Which song tells us, "The words of the prophet are written on the subway walls?"

  • Sound of Silence correct

The power duo Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel released their album "Sounds of Silence" Jan. 17, 1966. The duet's first major hit song came from this album and was a slight variation of the album's title. The song "The Sound of Silence" also graced the soundtrack to the movie "The Graduate." Paul Simon completed composing the song in early 1964 and recorded it with his folk-rock singing partner for their 1964 album "Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M." The album did not do well, but they re-recorded the song for their 1966 album. From there, the song became a folk-rock favorite. Source: Last.FM
