Elizabeth Christ Trump, the future president's grandmother, founded Elizabeth Trump & Son in 1923 and included her 18-year-old son Fred Trump. Her husband Frederick began developing real estate when they moved to Queens, New York, in 1906. After her husband's death of influenza in 1918, Elizabeth kept the real estate business going. Fred went on to become a successful real estate developer but Elizabeth remained involved in the business. While attending the University of Pennsylvania, Donald Trump worked for Elizabeth Trump & Son, officially joining the company in 1968.
