What was the average work week during the Industrial Revolution?
- 12 hours a day/ 4 days a week
- 8 hours a day/ 5 days a week
- 10 hours a day/ 6 days a week
Happy Labor Day, friends! Time to kick off the ol' dress shoes, roast a hot dog and celebrate the fact that we are no longer in the Industrial Revolution. Most people living during that period put in about 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. Yeesh! Thank goodness the National Labor Union came along and pushed for a more realistic 8-hour work day, 5 days a week and now we can all make it home in time to watch The Bachelor at night.
