What is the highest flying bird in the world?

  • The Bar-Headed Goose
  • The Whooper Swan
  • Ruppell's Griffon Vulture correct

If you happen to look outside your airplane window and see that there is a vulture flying next to you, don't worry this isn't a symbol that your impending death is upon you via horrific plane crash. It just so happens that these crazy-looking beasts are the only animal that can indeed fly next to you. Yep, Griffon Vultures have been known to fly as high as 37,000 feet, which is the average height of airplane travel. Bar-headed geese, the second highest flyer can only reach altitudes at about half that. Happy travels, carnivorous death-bird! Source: The Mother Nature Network
