In which season did Major League Baseball add its last two expansion teams?

  • 2000
  • 1999
  • 1998 correct

It's been nearly 20 years since Major League Baseball last introduced two new baseball teams into its leagues. In 1998, the American and National League each adopted a new franchise. Tampa Bay became home to the AL's Tampa Bay Devil Rays (now simply known as the Rays), and Phoenix welcomed the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2001, just four years after their inception, the Arizona Diamondbacks won their first World Series. The Rays, meanwhile, won the AL pennant in 2008. Source: HowTheyPlay
