In Sweden, what is Kaninhoppning?

  • Rabbit show jumping competition correct

Most countries have sports and other events that are unique to their culture and geographical region. Sweden is no exception to this rule. The sporting men and women of Sweden shrink down an equestrian jumping course, then replace the horses and riders with floppy eared, fluffy bunnies. Kaninhoppning is literally rabbit hopping and originated in the late 1970s in Sweden. Trainers guide rabbits on a leash over a course of obstacles. The bunny making the least number of errors and who completes the course in the least amount of time becomes the winner. Source: Library.SunshineCoast.qld.gov.au
