Who was the first person to receive a Faberge egg?
- The Queen of England
- George Washington
- The Tsarina of Russia
If you want to crack this open, look no further than Russia! The first Faberge egg was made by Peter Carl Faberge as a gift to Tsarina Maria in 1885. It was an easter present from Tsar Alexander. The shell was two and a half inches in length and made of plain white enamel. Once opened, a golden yolk is revealed that holds a tiny golden hen with ruby eyes. It was such a hit that Faberge made one every year for the Tsarina.
