When was YouTube founded?

  • 2005 correct

Although co-founder Chad Hurley spitballed the idea for YouTube in 2004, the domain name was officially registered December of the following year. The very first video posted was an 18-second clip of another co-founder, Jawed Karim, at the zoo. It was called, quite fittingly, "Me at the Zoo" and now has more than 34 million views.
