What is the world's most endangered marine mammal?
The vaquita, also known as cochito, is the world's smallest porpoise, and is also the most endangered. The little guy calls the upper Gulf of California home, and has been pushed to the brink of extinction because of illegal fishing in its habitat. Vaquita grow to be only about four feet long and weigh about 80 pounds. Experts estimate that there are less than one hundred left in the world, and they could be extinct by 2018.
