What is the divorce rate in the U.S.?
Everyone has heard the old adage that "half of all marriages end in divorce" but what you might be surprised to find out is that is simply not true. Yes, The Center for Disease Control and Prevention did do a study in 2009 that 6 in every 1,000 people in the U.S. got married that year and 3 in every 1,000 people got divorced that year. However, what it forgot to take into consideration is that the people getting divorced that year were not the ones getting married. Essentially, these are two different generations. In order for the statistic to be accurate, you would have to look at all the people in the U.S. who have been married and since gotten divorced and that statistic is actually much closer to 40%.
