What are the names of the Three Wise Men?
- Ahaziah, Jehoahaz, and Zedekiah
- Cain, Abel and Seth
- Shardrach, Meshach and Abednego
- Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar
According to the Catholic religion, there were three Magi who came to visit the Christ child on the day he was born: Caspar (or Gaspar), Melchior, and Balthasar. In 2010, a book titled "Revelations of the Magi", an ancient text, was translated by a professor at the University of Oklahoma. This text claims that the Magi are descendants of Adam and Eve's third son, Seth. They came from a land called "Shir" which would be somewhere around China. Whether or not the "Revelations of the Maji" is true, one thing is certain: Caspar, Melchior, and Balthasar sure knew how to give good gifts! Nowadays a 1.5-ounce bottle of Frankincense can cost as much as $100! Source: Catholic Education Resource Center and ABC News
