  • Los Angeles
  • Seattle
  • New York
  • Chicago correct

The world's first modern skyscraper was built in the Windy City of Chicago. The building was called the Home Insurance Building and opened in 1885. The building stood just 10 stories high - downright puny compared to skyscrapers built today. It was demolished back in 1931. However, it will always hold the title as the first skyscraper in the world.
