How many lanes does an Olympic swimming pool have?
Olympic swimming pools have eight lanes and run between 25-50 meters in length. The eight lanes also have two outside lanes called a buffer zone. Last Olympics we watched swimming for Michael Phelps' long strokes and Ryan Lochte's long abs. This year, watch it for Cate and Bronte Campbell, swimming sisters from Australia who are pushing to take home the gold and silver in the 100m freestyle- a first in history!
